Dress Code. |
Ages 2 1/2-7: We prefer kids to be in a leotard, tights, and a skirt overlay or shorts. Any color is fine for class. Hair up and off the face. However, we know that kids sometimes are... well, kids! If you were lucky to get them out the door with just about ANYTHING on, we forgive ya ;)
Ages 8-11: (All styles except Ballet) At this age the main focus is that the kids are comfortable and able to move. Most athletic and dance wear is appropriate. Hair up and off the face. Ages 12+: Just as technique gets more picky, so does our dress code. Elbows and knees exposed, tight fitted clothing on the bodice. (Hip Hop is the exception.) This allows teachers to see and correct proper body lines and movement. Ballet: All Ballet classes require tights, leotard, hair in bun, skirt/shorts optional. |
Yes. Dance shoes were designed to serve both an aesthetic and mechanical purpose. Some styles are EASIER with proper shoes. Therefore, ballet slippers for Ballet and Lyrical, jazz shoes or turners for Jazz, tap shoes for tap, and a dance sneaker for hip hop. Acro, Contemporary, and Modern tends to be more flexible; they often are even performed barefoot.

Do I need a different pair of shoes per style? |
How does Tap rental work? |
Tap Rental is $15/semester. You pick up the shoes at the start of class and return them at the end. We keep them clean and in stock. Best part?? Those feet grow during the year and we simply size you up! You don't have to buy another pair! Or, your little one decides that particular night she thinks the shoes are too tight; we have another pair waiting!

We try our very best at Fusion to keep costumes within a $65-$90 range. Competition costumes may run higher.
No dancer is forced to perform. Some students choose to just take classes recreationally without performing. Please, communicate this with a staff member so we can prep choreography accordingly. |
How expensive are costumes? And, does my dancer have to perform? |
